Baseball has never become popular in the UK in the same way that American football and basketball have, making this something of an odd choice to release, and my own knowledge goes no further than „hit the ball and run“. Thankfully stats are kept to a minimum, the controls are fairly simple and the game can be enjoyed in the same way that a good football game can. The game is adorned with official team names and logos but I can't tell if the player names are (or were) correct, and each match opens with a TV-style intro from a (presumably) famous American baseball pundit. In game the view rarely moves far from behind the batter whether you're hitting or pitching, but the graphics are well animated and the whole thing feels responsive aside from the odd occasion where you're assigned a fielder that's off screen whilst the computer runs in all its players. In-game sounds are a little dodgy though as usual sampled speech is of high quality. Basically, if you want a baseball game for the Mega-CD then this is your only choice, and it's not a bad title at that, but if you're not into the sport then this will hold no real entertainment value for you. www.sega-mega-cd-library.co.uk
